Girls Day 2025 at the ICM!
Every year, Girls Day is a great opportunity for us to show schoolgirls how engineers can help cure heart disease, save lives, and much more.

What is a ventricular assist device and how does it work? Why doesn't mechanical engineering always have something to do with cars, aeroplanes or excavators? We answered these and many other questions in an interactive workshop.
They were also given a brief insight into the basics of the human heart, blood flow in the body and the technical support methods used in cardiac medicine. During joint experiments in our laboratory, the students were able to gain exciting insights into the everyday life of an engineer at the Charité.
