AI-supported computer-aided design assistant system for heart surgery
Über das Projekt
In this project, we aim to combine clinical and engineering expertise to develop a computer-assisted planning support system that enables advanced treatment planning for left ventricular reconstruction. Such a support system requires various model components, including reduced, physics- and data-based models.
A central component will be a virtual surgical model that simulates the clinical procedure of the operation step by step. This includes the identification and removal of scarred regions of the heart wall, the modelling of sutures to close the open heart, and the estimation of post-operative contractile movement.
