Development of a novel protein-repellent probe for the in vivo extraction of circulating tumor cells in patients with pancreatic adenocarcinoma
About
About the project: A novel, protein-repellent probe is being developed for the in vivo extraction of circulating tumor cells in patients with pancreatic cancer. The goal is to achieve highly selective binding of tumor cells while significantly reducing the binding of blood cells. To this end, the Laboratory for Biofluid Mechanics is conducting biocompatibility and hemocompatibility tests to characterize the probe’s compatibility with blood. The optimized probe will then be validated preclinically in an animal model.
