Rheomo is developing an advanced blood rheology model that realistically simulates the deformable red blood cells. Based on micropolar theory, the aim is to predict blood damage in complex flows with greater precision. Experimental
data on cell deformation are used to validate the models. The aim is to optimise cardiovascular devices such as pump systems.
