Investigation of a test bench for the in vitro simulation of infective endocarditis under near-physiological blood flow conditions in a prosthetic heart valve

The aim of the project is to develop a test rig that simulates infective endocarditis (IE) under conditions that closely resemble those found in the body. The test rig will enable the testing and optimisation of prosthetic heart valves made from various materials (e.g. porcine valves, bovine pericardium or mechanical prosthetic heart valves) and of different diameters.
