Process Optimization for Nutrient Extraction and Biogas Production from Macroalgae
About
The project aims to efficiently extract valuable compounds such as proteins, fats, and pigments from macroalgae, as well as to optimize biogas production. By combining material separation with the utilization of residual biomass, the project pursues an integrated biorefinery concept. In the AGOBOOST project, innovative technologies and digital process optimizations are being developed for this purpose and applied to macroalgae that can be cultivated in Europe. This gives companies access to new technologies, expands their product portfolios, and opens up markets in sectors such as the food industry, biogas, and aquafarming.
